Primo (Ex Libris) (added 1/15/08 – compliments of Judy Fox at WU)

  • Royal Library of Denmark Only their OPAC is being searched; they elected to start there. Note “Hello, Guest” and sign-in invitation.
  • Bridgeport University Remote resources are searched first, with the search on the OPAC happening at the same time; OPAC results are ready for viewing after the article results are perused. Simply click on the “Catalog” tab. On the “Articles & More” tab note “Want a specific database, e-journal or book?” Here one finds the A – Z List, list of databases (with usage tips and restrictions linked), and SFX-enabled “Find e-Journal.”
  • Vanderbilt University TV Archive is a special collection now cross-searchable for the first time. Primo sits atop a SirsiDynix OPAC.
  • University of Minnesota Note the 3 tabs, using two as “scopes” (“my” campus vs. the library system’s holdings) and the 3rd for Articles. Note “Hello, Guest.”
  • University of Iowa The search “world war clippings” shows a collection from the library’s digital repository. Note tab “Find Articles” and “Limit to” with selection of MetaLib Quick Sets. (Quick sets are groups of subject-similar databases.) This site supplies the link to add Primo to one’s iGoogle page.
  • Boston College Note tab labeled “Database Quick Sets.” Groups of subject-similar databases can be searched. In “BC Collections” tab search: Books = Cement “as an exact phrase” “in the title” We get the Russian novel as the first hit. This illustrates the precision Primo is capable of.
