UM System and Affiliated Borrowers:
Monographs  (books) may be requested through the MERLIN Library Catalog by active faculty/staff/students at MERLIN/MOBIUS institutions. The request forms on the previous page are used for journals/serials and other  non-book resources ONLY.  Contact your library's Interlibrary Loan office for procedures/information regarding article, or other non-returnable requests.

UM System Branch Libraries:
Article requests or requests for photocopies of book chapters, etc, should include the following: Requesting party contact information, UMLD barcode, and proper citation.   The requesting party should furnish contact information, especially in the case of FAX/ARIEL requests, in the event that clarification is needed.  The place intended by the requesting party as the pick-up point for request fulfillment should be specified.  In most cases, a FAX number or ARIEL address is sufficient.  The UMLD or other barcode(s) placed in and on each item denote its location in this facility and as such are most important to our success in finding the requested item.  Citation(s) should include name of the journal, volume and issue number, date of publication, author, title of article, page numbers and any other special information pertaining to the request (i.e.:  "include title page"). Print offs from OCLC, ALA Interlibrary Loan forms, or citations from databases are all acceptable as long as a MERLIN item record including the UMLD barcode is also provided.
