Enrich Your Teaching with Special Collections
With its diverse collections of rare books, comic art, maps, posters, pamphlets, and other primary sources, Ellis Library’s Special Collections department offers a wealth of resources for teaching.
In this workshop, librarians will introduce instructors to the department’s collections and services. Participants will work hands-on with collection materials and discuss techniques for incorporating these materials into undergraduate education.
Topics will include:
- Specific materials and collections with potential for use in class visits or assignments
- Instruction services offered by Special Collections – with opportunities for feedback and suggestions from workshop participants
- Ideas for developing students’ research skills, visual literacy, and creativity, using Special Collections materials
Anyone involved or interested in teaching is welcome to attend.
