UM Libraries Depositories (UMLD)
UMLD stands for the University of Missouri Libraries Depository, an off-campus storage facility for infrequently used library materials. Request books from off-site storage by using the Request Item button in the MERLIN Catalog.
- Perform your search in MERLIN.
- Select "REQUEST" when you find your item.
- Enter your PawPrint and password.
If your pawprint does not work, enter your name, EMPL ID # and PIN number when prompted.
- Students: look up your EMPL ID # in myZou
- Faculty or staff: find your EMPL ID #
- Enter zero + EMPL ID + c
Example: 012345678c
- Enter zero + EMPL ID + c
- The first time you REQUEST an Item or VIEW your circulation record in the MERLIN catalog, you will create your own PIN (personal identification number).
- Use numbers or letters, six or more characters long
- When prompted for a location to pick up the book, select a library from this list.
- These books often arrive within a day or two. You will receive an email notice when the book is ready for pickup.
Request journal volumes or articles from off-site storage
- Request MU journals from off-site storage by using the Request Item button in the MERLIN Catalog.
- Journals owned by other UM Libraries located at the UM Libraries Depository must be requested through ILL@MU. Please continue to select the ILL@MU Logon to request articles in journals from other campuses that are located at the Depository.
Bookbag option for multiple requests (useful for journal volumes)
This option allows you to select multiple titles, then fill the out Name, Address, ID information a single time.
- Perform your search in MERLIN.
- Select the material of interest.
- Select Add to Bookbag.
- Repeat these step until you have have finished searching MERLIN.
- Select View Bookbag.
- Select Multiple Requests (select this even if you have only one book in the Bookbag)
- Before entering information, scroll down to the bottom of the page to see titles in the Bookbag.
- Select one of the options:
* Empty Bookbag
* Request All
* Click box by desired titles, then Request Selected - If you choose Request All or Request Selected, follow steps 4-8 as for Ordering books via MERLIN.
Most items will be available for use within 24 to 48 hours of the request. However, requests made on Friday afternoons will not be available until the following Monday. Email notification will be sent when the material is ready for check out.
