Locate Dissertations
- Locate dissertations by searching the MERLIN Catalog:
- Search by author or title or browse MU Dissertations by department
- Most MU dissertations written before 1995 will be housed off-campus. Use the Request item feature to order.
- If you are trying to locate dissertations associated with a certain department, for example, the Accounting department, do a subject search using this subject heading and put the department at the end,

Get a copy of a dissertation from the depository
- Paper copies of dissertations formerly shelved in Ellis Library have been moved to the UM Libraries Depository (UMLD). Film copies of dissertations are in Special Collections.
- To get a copy of a pre 1995 dissertation, locate the dissertation in the MERLIN Catalog, and press the
button at the top of the screen. You can also request a dissertation from UMLD by asking at the Ellis Circulation Desk.
