How to Find Journal Rankings and Impact Factors

The main source for journal rankings and impact factors is the Journal Citation Reports. The MU Libraries do not have an online subscription to the Reports, but print volumes are available in the Reference area of Ellis Library along with some detailed supplementary material on microfiche.

  • Journal Citation Reports Science Edition
  • Ellis Library Reference Z7403 .S32
  • Journal Citation Reports Social Science Edition
  • Ellis Library Reference Z7163 .S62

No humanities edition is published. Volumes covering journal rankings for the previous year are usually published in late summer. The Journal Citation Reports include impact factors for individual journal titles and lists of highly ranked journals by subject. Not all science and social science journals are included in the Journal Citation Reports.
