Linking to Journal Titles
- For
durable links to a journal title in JSTOR, use the listing of JSTOR
journals by collection at:
- Scroll
down to the journal title you want and copy the URL shown in the
Journal URL line.
- Add
the proxy prefix to the beginning of the URL so that off-campus
students will also be able to access the journal.
The proxy prefix is: http://proxy.mul.missouri.edu:2048/login?url=
For example, the entire URL for William and Mary Quarterly would be:
http://proxy.mul.missouri.edu:2048/login?url=http://www.jstor.org/journals/00435597.html
Linking to Articles
- You
will need to use the JSTOR Citation Linking Tool to create durable
links for JSTOR articles.

- Fill
out the form with the relevant information for the article for which
you want to create the link.
- You
must select a journal title from the pull-down menu.
- Then
enter the identifying information for the article by using one of
these options on the form:
- Volume and Issue Numbers AND Starting Page Number
- Volume and Issue Numbers AND Article Title
- Publication Date AND Starting Page Number
Publication Date AND Article Title
- Click
on Retrieve the Citation and URL
- Copy
the permanent URL to your document/web site for the direct link to the
article.
- In
your document/web site, add the proxy prefix to the JSTOR permanent
URL for the article so that students who are accessing from off-campus
will also be able to view the article. The proxy prefix is: http://proxy.missouri.edu:2048/login?url=
For example, the entire URL for a
link to an article in American Literature found in JSTOR will be:
