Circulation Policies
Loan and fine policies are established under the authority of the University Libraries. The policies are on display at the Circulation Desk. Extended loans may be granted for the purposes of graduate or post-graduate research. The automated circulation system allows individuals to place holds on books that are checked-out to other patrons or at other UM or branch libraries (as well as St. Louis University Libraries). Patrons may renew books twice by using the following patron function on the telnet version of the MERLIN Library Catalog:
- Select "View Your Own Record".
- Enter your name, Social Security number and PIN number at the prompts.
- Select the "Items currently checked out" button.
- Place a check next to the items you wish to renew.
- Click the "Renew Selected Items" button.
To do this follow the below link and have ready your name, Social Security number and your PIN number
At the third renewal, the material must be brought to the library.
Borrowing Privileges
All MU faculty, staff, and students, and MU Libraries card holders may borrow Math Sciences Library materials. Anyone may use the collection within the Library.
The Library reserves the right to recall all books after two weeks of use if requested by another borrower. Materials needed for reserve may be recalled at any time. All borrowers are charged fines for overdue recalled books at the rate of $2.00 per day.
