Rare Books: The rare book collection is housed in Room 401 of Special Collections. Holdings span the eighth to twenty-first centuries and include early manuscripts and manuscript fragments, printed books, periodicals, pamphlets and broadsides. Collection strengths include the history of printing and the book arts, English political and religious history, dance of death, emblem books, Ovid's Metamorphoses and herbals. Special Collections also features collections in comic art, playbills, Missouri Sanborn Fire Insurance maps (also available online) and war posters.
