There are several options for creating durable links to online materials.

I.    Create a durable short URL to a specific article

II.   Create a durable link to a specific journal

III.  Create a durable article link using the DOI (Digital Object Identifier)

II.  Create a durable link to a specific journal

You can create a link to the journal information page in Findit@MU where current coverage data for a specific journal will always be available.

Use the journal's ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) as the unique identifier.

Use this format to create a durable link:

http://ew3dm6nd8c.search.serialssolutions.com/?V=1.0&N=100&L=EW3DM6ND8C&S=I_M&C={ISSN}

Example:  http://ew3dm6nd8c.search.serialssolutions.com/?V=1.0&N=100&L=EW3DM6ND8C&S=I_M&C=0022-0167

To find the ISSN for a journal:

  1. Search for the journal title in Find a Specific Journal.
  2. Copy the 8 digit ISSN located at the end of the title.
Find ISSN

III.  Create a durable article link using the DOI (Digital Object Identifier)

If you have the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) for a specific article, you can use this format for a persistent URL to the article:

http://proxy.mul.missouri.edu/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/XX.XXXX/XXXXXX

(Insert the DOI in place of the XX in the URL.)

Example:  http://proxy.mul.missouri.edu/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1177/1066480706294047
