Books and E-Books

To locate a particular book whose title, author etc. you already know in the MU Libraries and other Missouri libraries, use the FindIt@MU Book Finder.  This searches the MU Libraries, including the Health Sciences Library, and if it does not find your book there, or if the book is checked out from the MU Libraries, it passes the search along to the UM Libraries and/or the statewide library consortium called MOBIUS.  You may request books from MOBIUS libraries or other UM libraries for delivery.

To find books on the topic of a particular disease, try a SUBJECT search in MERLIN.  Choose Search for Medical Subjects (MESH).  Type the name of the disease, e.g., Influenza.  Look for books under the general subject heading; you might also find some with narrower subjects such as Influenza Human Epidemiology or Influenza Human History.
