Current Biography located in Ellis Library Ready Reference Collection (behind the Reference Desk) REF CT100.C8
Who's Who in the World located in the Reference Collection on the 1st floor REF CT120.W5
MERLIN Library Catalog to find books about the person.
Select "Subject" and enter the last name, first name of the person.
Example: Rather, Dan
Finding Transcripts
LexisNexis Academic
On the Easy Seach page, enter the person's name in the search terms box.
Remove the check next to Major US and World Publications.
Click in the box next to TV and Radio BroadcastTranscripts
Select the date range.
Click the Search button.
Enter the person's name in the Free Text box.
Add "and rst=TTPT" after the person's name.
Example: Duke lacrosse and rst=TTPT
Click Run Search.
Google
Search for the person's name and the word "transcripts"
Another type of search is to enter the person's name and add "and genre News"
Example: "michael richards" "genre NEWS"
You will need to include the quotes around your search terms.
Finding Video
Click on Advanced Video Search
Enter the person's name in the search box.
In the Genre section, select "Specific Genres."
Scroll down and select "News."
Click Google Search.
Enter the person's name and click Search.
Finding Editorials
Click the Advanced Search tab.
In the Find box, type the person's name.
Scroll down and in the Document type box, select Editorial.
Click the Search button.
If full-text is not available with the citation, click the Find it @ MU button to see if we have an electronic or paper copy in the Libraries' collection.
Click the News tab at the top of the search menu.
In the first Search Terms box, type the person's name.
In the Add Index Terms section, click Show.
In the Subject box, select Editorials & Opinions.
Select a date range.
Click the search button.
Finding Newspaper Articles
Click the News tab at the top of the search menu.
In the first Search Terms box, type the person's name.
Select a date range.
Click the search button.
