UM Libraries Depositories (UMLD & U2)
UMLD stands for the University of Missouri Libraries Depository, an off-campus storage facility for infrequently used library materials. Both the UM Libraries Depository and U2 store older books and journals.
Request books from off-site storage- Request books from off-site storage by using the Request Item button in the MERLIN Catalog.

Enter your PawPrint and password.
If your pawprint does not work, enter your name, EMPL ID # and PIN number when prompted.
- Students: find your EMPL ID # in myZou under Demographics
- Faculty or staff: look up your employee ID number - directions here

- The first time you REQUEST an Item or VIEW your circulation record in the MERLIN catalog, you create your own PIN (personal identification number).
- Use numbers or letters, six or more characters long.
Request journal volumes or articles from off-site storage
- Request MU journals from off-site storage by using the Request Item button in the MERLIN Catalog.
- Journals owned by other UM Libraries located at the UM Libraries Depository must also be requested through interlibrary loan (ILL@MU). Please continue to use Interlibrary Loan (ILL@MU) to request journals from other campuses that are located at the Depository.
Most items will be available for use within 24 to 48 hours of the request. However, requests made on Friday afternoons will not be available until the following Monday. Email notification will be sent when the material is ready for check out.
People not affiliated with the University of Missouri-Columbia can arrange to view material stored off-site by contacting the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor of Ellis Library:
