Remote Access
Commuters, distance learning students, and MU students, staff, and faculty with accounts from private Internet Service Providers (e.g., Socket, America Online, etc.) may access many of the MU Libraries' electronic resources through the MU Libraries proxy server. Licensing restrictions permit the library to allow access only to MU faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students.
Off campus users can access the electronic resources in several ways:
- Local users with a modem can access using TigerLink, available for purchase from DoIT (Information Access and Technology Services) at the Locust Street Building located at 615 Locust Street.
- Division of Information Technology also offers Virtual Private Networking, which allows you to access the MU network with an outside Internet Service Provider.
- The MU Libraries' proxy server for all users with an outside Internet Service Provider (e.g., AOL, MSN, Socket, etc.).
