Laptop Computer Checkout (Ellis Library)
Wireless Gateway laptop computers are available for 2-hour checkout at the Ellis Library Reserve Desk. This page describes what we offer at Ellis (the main library), and answers basic questions on how to use the machines.
Wireless laptops are also available for use in the Engineering Library & Technology Commons, the Geology Library and the Journalism Library.
Agreement and Rules for Laptop Computer Checkout
Laptop computers are available for checkout until 1 hour before the library closes.
- Laptop computers may only be used in Ellis Library.
- Laptop computers should never be left unattended.
- Please DO NOT eat, drink, or use anything MAGNETIC because you are liable for damages (laptops are valued at $2500.00.) Please return the laptop in the same condition you were given it.
- The loan period for a laptop is 2 hours. Please return the laptop to an attendant at the Reserve Desk. Overdue charges are $2.00 an hour.
- Should you experience problems with the PROGRAMS on the laptop, please ask for help at the Reference Desk.
- Should you experience problems with the battery or with the laptop itself, please ask for help at the Reserve Desk.
- Please SAVE your information frequently in case the battery runs low. Monitor your battery life.
- Please delete any material that is private.
