This history by religious author Jose Barbosa deals with the foundation of a convent of Poor Clares in Lisbon, Portugal. This book was recently used by a religious studies class interested in convents and women\'s communities in medieval and early modern Europe. It appears to be quite rare; only seven libraries report holdings in the WorldCat database.

The book has water damage, and the leather has become detached from the covers and spine. The conservator will remove, reinforce, and reattach the leather and attach several small gatherings that were never sewn into the original text block.
