Pietro Aretino was a well-known poet, satirist, and playwright. He was notorious for his racy writings, as well as his venomous satire and parody, much of it directed against princes and others in power.

The book has already been rebacked in the past. The cover and some of the page pages are detached. The conservator will reattach them with kozo repairs.
