With an emphasis on motherhood and the natural goodness and sweetness of the feminine disposition, books like this one encouraged women to use their influence in the family to improve society. This book is of great interest to students and scholars in women\\\\\\\'s history and the history of education.

The front and back boards are detached. The conservator will provide new leather for the spine and touch up corners and edges.
