Jean-Batiste Dubos is a well known Frenchman known for his writing skill and attempts to negotiate peace policies in England and the Netherlands. His reputation as an author earned him a place in Académie Française, the official body of France that decides matters concerning the French language. Réflexions was heavily praised by Voltaire and a work that discusses art theory.
