This is a first edition, five volume set of Fanny Burney’s book Camilla published in 1796. This set was published for Thomas Paine. Burney’s works explore women’s roles and identity in eighteenth century England. She was an influential force in Jane Austen and William Makepeace Thackery’s writing. Her writing style had a unique narrative style and was full of wit.
