The history of Sir Charles Grandison : in a series of letters

Volume seven of the 8th edition. Illustrated. Samuel Richardson wrote three popular novels in the 18th century including Pamela (1740), Clarissa (1748) and this novel Sir Charles Grandison originally published in 1753. Richardson developed a new literary technique for these texts called the epistolary form, in which the story is reveled through a series of letters. The popularity of his texts was instant with the publication of Pamela. Richardson did not start writing until age 51 previous to that he was a well known printer and publisher.
